Introduction: A labyrinth is a pathway with a purpose. It will give you a chance to take “time out” from your lives, to leave schedules and stress behind. Walking a labyrinth is a gift to yourself. It can lead to discovery, insight, peacefuless, happiness, mindfulness and well being.
Take a deep breath, let it out, repeat.
Song: “Come Be Beside Me” by Jan Phillips https://youtu.be/7SR5k0UC9Vg
Take your paper labyrinth and a pencil, write your own mantras around the labyrinth. As you enter, go with an open mind to receive whatever is there for you. Allow yourself to be surprised, be mindful of what you are doing and welcome whatever grace is given to you. Be aware, apply both your mind and heart. Use a simple mantra, a word or phrase or intention, saying it over and over to yourself. Find your own pace. Right now at this moment I desire...Take your time, think of peaceful words, stop in the center.
Musical interlude: Celtic Dreams, Tim Janis https://youtu.be/BkOEjovdZhI
Take two really long deep breathes. Continue, As you leave the center. You may feel a sense of wholeness, balance. Along the way as you write notice God's presence empowering you to transform some part of your life or actions. This is another time for reflection. Compare it to your way in. Be attuned to the sights and sounds around you. Reread what you have written.
Closing Prayer: “Beauty” (a Navajo Chant)
Now I walk in beauty
Beauty is before me
Beauty is behind me
Above me and below me
Around me and within me.
A note from Margaret: I will share a few labyrinths with you, try making aonther one on your own, using music or a peaceful place, Try making an Autumn Labyrinth for yourself. May this add to peacefulness in your life.
