Gratitude
Opening Prayer:
O Divine Presence, this evening we come with thankful hearts for eyes to see the beauty of our earth, for ears to hear laughter and music, for the smell of fresh-baked bread and the sweet taste of delicious food. Most especially we come with grateful hearts for the embrace of friends holding us gently….
We come with gratitude for the ways our gifts serve the needs of our sisters and brothers and we rejoice in the abundant blessings we have received from others. Amen.
( Bridget Mary Meehan)
Opening song: Berakah, the Blessing by Jan Novotka
1st Reading: “Blessings” by Br. David Steindl-Rast
2nd Reading:
When the song of the angels is stilled, When the star in the sky is gone, When the kings and princes are home, When the shepherds are back with their flock, Our work begins: ...To find the lost, To heal the broken, To feed the hungry, To release the prisoner, To rebuild the nations, To bring peace among brothers, To make music in the heart.

Prayers for the Community:
Source of All Blessings,
We pray for our local and global community:
We pray for our elected U.S. leaders, may they unite, and bring us the changes we need as a country.
We pray for those who exercise leadership roles in all faith traditions,
We pray for those who are infected by COVID, all their care-givers, all who teach children in this time of change, and their parents.
We pray for all those who are unemployed and underemployed, for migrants and refugees, and all who are hospitalized.
We pray for those who work to promote justice by eradicating sexism, racism, and discrimination of every kind,
We pray for an end to the “arms race” and peaceful ways to resolve conflicts among nations,
Ancient and Holy One …listen tonight as we bring our individual concerts to the table…..
And we pray for our unspoken concerns.
(moment of silence)
O Holy One, we trust You will heal all of us, each in ways we most need. Teach us to feel Your consolation and to thrive just as You created us! Thank You for Your love. Hold us in Your arms. For we are Your children. AMEN
Closing Song: Thank You For This Day – Karen Drucker
