Opening Prayer: May our longest day of light remind us that we are in your light today and always. Amen
A Reading from Megan Kenna’s version of humanity’s beginning.
So God said, “Let there be light.” What’s the light? Consciousness? Understanding? The Jews say that it is the soul and the spirit of every human being since the beginning of time to the end. If you know the Jewish tradition every one of us is a shaft or shard of light that has been shattered, broken, and scattered throughout the world. To collect all of those and put them together is tikkun olam, repairing the world, putting everything back together again the way it should be. So this is literally the creation of every single human being ever. That ought to blow your mind for a start.

Light within us, you give us all that we need to care for ourselves and one another. May we be aware and grateful for our many blessings.
Light within us, you give us faith that all will be well. May we learn to trust and know that all will be well.
Light within us, you give us your love unconditionally. May we know deep within we are all unconditionally loved especially those who we find difficult to love.
Light within us, you give us strength in difficult times. We pray for those who are suffering and do not have basic necessities for themselves and their families.
Light within us, you give us courage to stand with those who are struggling with all kinds of illness. May they feel your presence as we are with them.
Light within us, you give us your peace. We pray for the healing of divisions in our world.
Please bring your intentions to the Light of the World……I bring to the light
Closing Prayer : Holy One, Allah, Adonai, God of many names, we are one in your light. With gratitude and love we go out with joy to shine our light! Amen
